Meet Your Dog Trainer in Lake Forest, CA

My name is Carlo, and I’m the trainer behind The Bearded Dog Trainer.

I help dog owners across Lake Forest and Orange County solve behavior problems, build obedience, and create calmer homes.

My goal is simple.
Help owners understand their dogs so they can enjoy life together again.

How it Started

From Rescue Work to Dog Training

Before starting The Bearded Dog Trainer, I spent nearly nine years working in rescue. During that time I worked with over 800 foster dogs, many of them with serious behavior challenges.

Dogs labeled aggressive. Dogs struggling with reactivity. Dogs that owners felt they couldn’t handle anymore.

Working with that many dogs teaches you something important. Most dogs aren’t bad dogs. They simply need clear communication, structure, and consistency.

Those experiences shaped the way I train today.

My Approach to Training

Calm, Clear, and Realistic

Dog training doesn’t need to be complicated. Most behavior problems improve when dogs clearly understand what is expected of them and owners have the tools to guide them.

My approach is calm, direct, and realistic. I’m not here to promise miracles or quick fixes. But if you’re willing to put in the work and stay consistent, real progress will follow.

Training should make life easier for both the dog and the owner. That’s always the goal.

Life Outside of Training

A House Full of Animals

When I’m not working with clients or training dogs, I’m usually at home with my family.

My wife and I share our home with:

• Two pit mixes
• Two dachshunds
• One cat

And yes, the cat runs the house.

Most weekends you’ll find us relaxing at home, spending time outside with the dogs, or enjoying a quiet day around the house.

Why This Work Matters

Helping Dogs Stay in Their Homes

One of the biggest reasons I do this work is because I want to see dogs stay with their families.

Many of the dogs I worked with in rescue ended up there because behavior problems had reached a breaking point. When owners understand their dogs and have the right guidance, those situations can often be prevented. Better communication between dogs and their owners creates calmer homes, stronger relationships, and better lives for both.

That’s what this work is really about.

Let’s Improve Life with Your Dog

If your dog’s behavior has started making life stressful, you’re not alone.

With the right training plan and consistent guidance, things can improve faster than most owners expect.

If you’re ready to get started, I’d love to hear about your dog and your goals.
